Welcome to Wildcatville: A City of Dreams! Laredo ISD, in partnership with IBC Bank, proudly celebrated the launch of "Wildcatville" Minitropolis at Dovalina Elementary! This innovative program takes learning to the next level by immersing students in a fully operational, simulated community where they can explore roles in government, business, and civic organizations.
From managing finances at the bank to delivering mail at the post office, students gain real-world experience while mastering life skills like financial literacy, teamwork, and leadership. It’s education like you’ve never seen before—engaging, empowering, and inspiring!

🎁 Spreading holiday cheer! McDonald's owner/operator Mike Marasco and Marketing Director Sabrina Teeters presented donations to five LISD schools—Santo Niño Elementary, Heights Elementary, Leyendecker Elementary, Ryan Elementary, and Macdonell Elementary!

LISD to host surplus auction
Laredo Independent School District’s Fixed Assets and Custodial Department will host a surplus auction on Saturday, December 14, at the LISD Fixed Assets Warehouse located at 2201 Santa Isabel St. The viewing of items will start at 9:00 a.m. with the auction starting promptly at 11:00 a.m.
Cabello Recovery and Auction Services Inc., will conduct the auction on behalf of the district. Some of the items to be sold are desks/tables, file cabinets, tools, refrigerators, and miscellaneous items that are obsolete to the district.
Every item is sold as is. All sales are final. No refund will be given on any item. For more information contact Auctioneers Chris Cabello or Hector Gutierrez at 956-723-2552.
Join us as we kick off the holiday season with LISD's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight at the LISD Performing Arts Complex located at 2400 San Bernardo Avenue at 5:30 p.m.!
The tree lighting will take place just after dusk and will include live music by the Martin, Nixon, and Cigarroa High Schools bands, Christmas Carols performed by LISD choir groups, dance performances by MHS Tigerettes, NHS Golden Spurs, and CHS Silver Roses, including cheer teams, and a final performance by the CHS mariachi.
The 41-foot-tall tree will be decorated with 28 personally handcrafted elementary and secondary school ornaments, hundreds of yule lights, and a bright star lighting the way to the North Pole. Area families, business, community organizations, clubs and school groups are welcome to join the district in its holiday celebration.

✅ Committed to a sport for at least 3 years (cheer included, not dance)

This week, the Laredo Independent School District hosted swearing-in ceremonies at the LISD Performing Arts Complex, welcoming four dedicated board members who serve with purpose and passion.
Juan Ramirez, Jr. (District 1), Monica Garcia (District 7), Rodolfo "Rudy" Morales, III (District 2), and the newest Trustee Alfredo "Gus" Perez (District 4) have officially taken their oaths to serve our students, staff, and community.
Together, they will help guide LISD’s mission to prepare students to be highly successful, critical thinkers, and effective problem solvers who are confident, self-motivated, and actively engaged in our local and global community. Their leadership ensures a continued focus on creating opportunities for every student to thrive.
